Most importantly ensure our Ports alliances and operations are in alignment with the  long term prosperity of Pierce County.

Jeannette has been fighting for equal opportunities and social justice in Pierce County for over 20 years.

In 2003 , Jeannette realized there was an overwhelming and increasing population of homeless veterans. Being an Army Veteran herself, she quickly took action developing a crisis team to walk down Tacoma Avenue and survey the homeless population that filled the streets. She’s no stranger to understanding the issues and creating solutions. Within a few years time she established the House of Matthew Permanent and Supportive Housing, a nonprofit focused on advocating and assisting homeless and low-income individuals with educational programs, supportive services, employment assistance and housing programs that were hyper-focused on stability and self-sufficiency. The House of Matthew assist over 5,000 families per year and since its foundation still remains the only nonprofit of its kind to not seek out federal funding.
